Prieto and Quintana play the Sonata by Spanish composer Roberto Gerhard, a pupil of Schoenberg. Argentinean composer Alberto Ginastera, excels with his Sonata for cello, as important as his lyric production. Discoveries as the cheerful Sonata in Old Spanish Style by composer and virtuoso Gaspar Cassado, attractive early compositions by Piazzola and Rodrigo. Also included is the neo-baroque Fantasy by Samuel Zyman, a radiant new piece by a wonderful young Mexican composer.
